Kornet EP

All of Kornet's albums are freely available on the internet already, this one is less so. I sincerely hope I don't offend any big collectors or men who have almost everything by posting this. I have asked permission-- repeatedly-- from the original ripper (his name is Jack too) and I got the go-ahead at about noon EST today, give or take five minutes. All I can do otherwise is to apologize, to apologize from the deepest layers of my heart, offering up my forgiveness in return.

I think all progressive fans know this band, if not, they really should brush up on them, they are a really good example of what I meant when I said european fusion really seems to blow american fusion out of the water sometimes. There's only three songs, but they are worth hearing at least once before you die, which is going to be soon for me. There's enough energy in track "727" to power two concordes from Paris to Stockholm in less than the time of an EP, you have to hear it to believe it. I can only hope more people enjoy this than want me to get run over by a garbage truck tomorrow.

I'd never heard of this, thanks for posting. I still have my original Kornet albums from the mid-seventies.

I agree with something you have posted before - that there was a particular depth to the European jazz-rock and progressive rock bands. I used to spend all my money on import records and haunt obscure record stores looking for gems like these. I think it was the willingness to incorporate many influences - classical, Arabic, Asian, ethnic of all kinds - that set them apart from so many American musicians. Even today, most Americans are relatively provincial!

Thanks again.

i agree with all of you. i was raised on west coast sound in the sixtys, then i went in the army, blessed with two years in germany, 72 and 73. went to highdelberg one evening, down to the scene to score some hash, there was a band setting up a stage with a generator to do an outdoor show for free, this band was krann the first german band i saw. needless to say i was blowen away. that began a wonderfull journy into a new world of prog. i love prog not frog, have found many treasures here. thank you for all you have done. God bless you from solarmusicfreak. prog heads unite.
