Gorgeous!! So Many Thanks...
Opo only made two albums: "Fallen Asleep Just Like Papa" & "Opo 2".The first Opo album on Legendary Stoof Label. AA folk album of a very high quality and of great importance. Fantastic Female voice by Lenneke de Vries and supported with multi-talented artists, using a widespread traditional instruments. Opo has a wonderful TUDOR LODGE like chorus and sound. A folk killer! As this Dutch folk is recently becoming rarer and rarer.Lineup:* Evert Elderson - vocal, acc. guitar. mandloin, dulcimer, harmonium* Theo harrewijn - vocals, double bass, Irish harp, flute* Han Schaeffer - vocals, acc. guitar* Lenneke de Vries - vocals, flute, tin whistle Opo I (1975):1. OPO is totally unknown in Holland, and I can tell, since I am Dutch. Does anybody know what has become of these wonderful musicians? I cherish their two albums, which seem to combine the best of Pentangle and Fairport Convention. Gentle but thrilling.
I'm really surprised to find these albums by the folk group I used to follow in my teenage days (I was one of the group members' girl friend, 40 yrs ago). Don't even know if all these people are still alive.
did hear about them, but never heared their music!Going way back in time ! magnificent !thanxs for these precious ones ! JayB

Excellent Dutch Acoustic folk group -late 70s. I was very surprised to see they werent included on the Rare Dutch Folk double Cd some years ago. Listening to both albums is a lovely gentle experience. I enjoy them immensely.
Excellent 70s Dutch Folk releases - Ideal candidates for CD release,Hopefully someone will pick up on them, the first album was also released in Ireland in April 77. Second album only issued in Holland.
Would be someone so kind to reup both albums? Thanks
