If you like a combination of jazz, folk, baroque, gospel and blues - kind of medieval music with pop influences - injected into eight well-known numbers and performed by a group of superb musicians plyaing such ancient instruments as shawms, crumhorns and regals, then you MUST buy this album. The stars are David Munrow (also on descant recorder) and Chris Hogwood (harpsichord), two highly-respected interpreters of medieval sounds, but the effect achieved when they mix with three flugelhorns, two woodwinds, piano, organ and a driving rhythm section powered by two drummers is quite amazing. You will hardly recognise Laura Nyro's 'Eli's Coming', Lennon & McCartney's 'Michelle', or Blood Sweat And Tears 'Spinning Wheel'. 'Scarborough Fair' and 'This guy's in love with you' are also gems and the arrangements are so complex that it will take you a dozen plays to pick out everything that is going on. "..In 1978 RTB Big Band celebrated the 30th anniversary by releasing this double album consisted of recent works recorded from March 73 - February 77. The title wasn't as imaginative as the music itself and it was just called 1948-1978 that was a bit misleading for the contest of the album. It had a small inscription at the back of the cover saying "With Guests" so also it might be known under this name as well. Guests in this case on some of the recordings were Dusko Gojkovic, Alan Skidmore, Gerd Dudek, Bora Rokovic. The well known track "Balkan Express" made the original record sought after and quite expensive but very few had a chance to actually hear the whole album."

Carolyn Hester "Magazine" {US} 1969 (Acid Folk Psych Fuzz)

Long time no see. Well here we go again this album was a big surprise for me. American folk music use to be pretty lame and very country inspired. This one reminds me of Susan Christie's album, with some heavy parts and parts with dreamy female vocals. But Carolyn albums its a little bit more heavier.
i think that this record could be her 3rd album or something. It is hard to found anything about the album. But the music speaks for it self, enjoy!

Void Generator - "We Have Found The Space" {Italy} [2006] (psych prog stoner) Exclusive for Pnf!

One of my hobby is to make Orfeo got bored from me, with telling him my fantasies about opening a pizza delivery store and sending to customers cd-r copies of italian prog bands as a promotion. (hey my dream about coming true, cousin opening a pizza store in the city!! so why not? ;) ) would be a nice marketting & franchasing model out of Italy and people taste "Good Prog" by this way! :) months before i requested him some new bands from Italian new scene. a week later than my request, i got a package from mail, with 6 cds.(thanks a lot man!) i listened all of them, but one of them stayed in my old cd player for a long time. i asked my friend about who is that guyz. he gave me their site. and i just wrote a fan -you guyz great- mail. the reply mail was calm. and we become friends. i must add the groups guitarist/vocalist's passion & knowledge to 70s prog bands that stayed in vinyl amazed me. After opening that myspace, time to time we pop in and look around what is new. I saw a new song from them. and it is really beautiful and this reminds me their album. with a little bit shyness, i knock their door to share the album with PNF. They said go ahead. So my thanks goes to them to give me a chance to introduce that album to you. :)

On Void Generator's Myspace web site they say that the members are all united by a passion for psychedelia, space rock and stoner music. WOW… is that ever apparent from the music on this album! The band is from Rome, Italy and consists of Gabriele Fiori and Gianmarco Lantaffi on guitars, bass & vocals, Massimo Matrone on synthesizers and Maurizio De Angelis on drums. Their first, self-titled album, was released in 2004 and We Have Found The Space was released this year.

The songs are characterized by hard and heavy metallic space rock 'n roll that brings to mind other contemporary bands like Litmus, First Band From Outerspace and Space Mirrors, but also Black Sabbath and Monster Magnet, and Norwegian psych rockers WE often come to mind. In fact, some of the vocals are a dead ringer for the singer from WE (either Gabriele or Gianmarco). Anyway, it all makes for a deep space rock 'n rolling stoner metallic party in the cosmos. Throughout the album we're slapped around by blazing guitars, a solid rhythm section and trademark space rock electronics, all of which make for a tight and read more here

1860 Band - "1860 Band" {New Zealand} [1978] (prog funk jazz)

After "Snakes Alive" from Australia, let we enlarge our tour in australasia. I heard many good things about this album, but couldnt find to listen till this month. searched this band a lot without knowing anything about them. and just learned they were pre Quincy Conserve and they were from New Zealand (thanks lars) Its one of a hidden treasure, that every lover of this type may enjoy.

some information i found;
The Quincy Conserve was formed in Wellington in late 1967 by Malcolm Hayman. Malcolm was an extremely talented musician who had already been on the music scene for twelve years by that stage. Hayman was only 15 years old when he arrived in Wellington in 1955 as a member of the Maori Hi Fives showband. The following year the singer-guitarist formed the Trademarks, long-time residents at the Mexicali, a popular nightspot owned by American expatriate Harry Booth. The Trademarks were very popular, and after four years of constant playing, queues formed to see them every time they played. Over the years, 30-odd musicians passed through the ranks of the Trademarks, before Malcolm disbanded the group in 1961. The Trademarks owed more than a little to the Maori showband tradition, where Hayman had learnt his licks, but the group gave Wellingtonians their first taste of rock'n'roll. One member of the Trademarks was Rodney "Dody" Potter, who was later a member of the Keil Isles and Dallas Four.

Following the demise of the Trademarks, Malcolm spent 18 months at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music, followed by two years on the Australian-Pacific cabaret circuit with a variety of bands. Malcolm was a severe diabetic and in 1965, during a residency in New Caledonia, he came down with tuberculosis, spending the next 14 months in a Noumea hospital. He returned to Wellington in the middle of 1966 and formed a new band called the Soundells.

The Soundells had a residency at the Downtown Club in Wellington and at the end of 1967 they were enticed to go to Auckland to play there. They accepted the offer, but Malcolm decided not to go. Now without a resident band at the Downtown Club, owner Roy Young had enough faith in Malcolm to give him a budget to recruit, equip and rehearse a new band for his club. Malcolm immediately tried the rhythm section of Sounds Unlimited, who had just dissolved, but at rehearsals found that they were not appropriate. It's A Beautiful Day - Today (1973)

Here goes this very hard to find album(at least for me), from the very well known band from the San Francisco Bay Area, i couldn´t find it anywhere so for those who are looking this one enjoy, im not sure if this is the right cover but is the best i could find...Theres no David LaFlamme on this album so there is a different sound, also we can appreciate more the beautiful voice of Pattie Santos and the compositions of Pattie and Bud cockrell.

Bridges - "Fakkeltog" {Norway} [1980] (prog rock)

A hidden treasure, and one of my favorite from norweigan scene. some copy/paste:

Pål Waaktaar and Magne Furuholmen's first group was called Bridges. They released a self-financed LP on the record company Våkenatt in Norway only called "Fakkeltog" (Torch-light procession). 1000 copies were made, but very few of them sold. The music is heavily influenced and inspired by The Doors. This record is the most sought-after record among a-ha fans and you must expect to pay an awful lot of money to get your hands on a copy of this record. ..... The album was produced by Svein Erichsen, mixed by Svein Erichsen and Tore Aarnes. It features Pål Waaktaar on guitar and vocals, Magne Furuholmen on synthesizers, Øystein Jevanord on drums and percussion and Viggo Bondi on bass guitar. The track "Vagrants" features Øivind Nusle and Hans Morten Stensland on violins, Svein Ivar Fors and Elisabeth Moe on cello, Ingvil Kaalhus on obo. "September" features Gro Hanne Fors and Sissel Grønlund on tumpets. The songs, arrangements and lyrics are all by Pål except for "Vagrants" which is arranged by Erik Nygaard. The songs on this album are all sung in English. This is the only album released by Bridges, the band started another album by the name of "Poem" but it was never published. The a-ha song "This Alone Is Love" features song text from the Bridges songs "May The Last Dance Be Mine" ("It will make my last breath pass out at dawn It will make my body dissolve out in the blue") and slightly adapted lyrics from "Every Mortal Night" ("Travel by trap-doors our souls are a myrid of wars And we are losing everyone"). ...read more here. thanks to RD :)

Thomas Natschinski & Gruppe - "Wir über Uns" {Germany} [70s] (hard psych, prog)

I have listened very few artists from east germany's 70s Amiga label, but whatever i listened from that scene are most of the time quality,good works. Its one of the mysterious label, and discovering is enjoyful. One of the good works i have listened is, Thomas Natschinski's early works. Well there are many information for him at net, but most of them i found is in german language, here i copy paste from german wiki, & any info welcome;

"...Thomas Natschinski, der durch seinen Vater, den Dirigenten und Komponisten Gerd Natschinski, schon früh mit Musik in Berührung kam, begann im Alter von 9 Jahren, Klavier zu lernen. Mit 16 schrieb er seine ersten Lieder. Nach Abschluss der Schule 1964 begann er, an der Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin Komposition, Klavier und Musiktheorie zu studieren. Einer seiner Lehrer war Rudolf Wagner-Régeny. Noch während des Studiums gründete er die Band „Team 4“, die sich musikalisch vor allem an die Beatles anlehnte, allerdings mit deutschen Texten von Hartmut König. Dass die Texte deutsch waren, geschah nicht auf Druck der Zensur, sondern war das eigene Anliegen der Band. Durch die deutschen Texte hatte „Team 4“ allerdings einen Vorteil gegenüber der Vielzahl anderer Gruppen, die einfach nur englische Titel nachspielten. Children of One - "Children of One" {USA} [1969] (psych)

Hello! , Altought its quite common, its my latest discovery. i amazed myself during the week with that album, its something like an authentic theraphy at scizoprenic level. hope you like it too. some copy/paste;

Lineup pasted above from Fuzz, Acid & Flowers, whose entry says nothing more than that they're from New York. Apparently a 1968 release, never reissued, very obscure and rare. [lysergia.com] gives the release date as 1969. Most definitely NOT a rock album even though it's likely to float in the same circles of rare late 60s psych. This is truly one of the most bizarre albums I've ever heard, somewhere in between mystical folk music, new age music, and modern classical with a strong element of Indian music because of the use of sitar, dilruba and tanpura. It has a very non-academic feeling; it would be easier to imagine this music coming out of a hippie commune than a university, though I imagine it was probably some mix of these cultural contexts that resulted in this. With cello, bass clarinet, and flute mingling with multiple female voices, there's a rich and warm feeling. Very dreamy and mellow, not much in the way of driving rhythms. Strangely there's little percussion on the album, yet in the middle there is a quite lengthy unaccompanied drumkit solo, which is quite nice and not a detriment to the album or the sort of thing that begs to be skipped over. The strongest feature of the album is the abundance of female vocals in a wordless, somewhat operatic style that comes off as mysterious and ritualistic instead of gratuitous or annoying. I wasn't familiar with the dilbura before this, though I noticed a very sarangi-like sound in the mix and I just read that it's an Indian classical instrument somewhere in between a sarangi and sitar, bowed like the former with tuning and fret arrangement close the latter. It's a fantastic sound. A real masterpiece of subtle mysteriousness! Non-idiomatic psychedelia outside of time and place. Meditative yet freaky. I've really never heard anything similar to this at all. Seriously demanding investigation by anyone who might be remotely interested in this aesthetic! This general vein of music isn't a strong interest for me, but I'm pretty knocked out by this and the composing is very sophisticated. I would expect a lot of folks to give this one 5 stars.

Freedom "Freedom is more than a word" {UK} [1972] (Progressive rock, Heavy)

Vertigo vertigo vertigo... A really strange label that had (or have) bands like Black Sabbath, Dr.Z, Tudor Lodge. And everything is getting expensive these days. But how ever Freedoom its a really nice progressive rock band and pretty heavy too, from the UK and the opening track is really awesome with viola and great guitars. If you know anything about the band you can write it in the comments. That would be really kind.

OKEY!!! Some days ago we recived an e-mail with a link with a band that was so heavy that I couldn't wear headphones while I was listening caus it would be hard to hold my head up. It sounds like OM or Sleep but with 5ives speed. But a lot more psychadelic. It's really hard to compare with something cause these guys sounds really new and fresh. Avalanche - Perseverance kills our game (Kraut/Prog) {Netherland} [1979]

On the mostly instrumental Perseverance Kills Our Game, Avalanche achieves all that makes a low-budget production endearing. First of all, the playing is true to the heart - an intangible that is subtle though very recognizable for those who hear these type of recordings on a regular basis. The musicianship here is superb though hardly symphony orchestra quality. And there is a real intimacy that surrounds the atmosphere - as if you're in the room while they're recording. And perhaps the fact that Avalanche have six full-time members helps keep the album from the one-dimensional nature of most private releases.

Side one is primarily a folk rock affair with wonderful acoustic guitar, piano, bass, drums and sparse (one track), but well done vocals. The real highlights, though, have to be the gorgeous flutes (various types) and the soaring and spiritual electric guitar work. For pure haunting folk, "Cola-tik" is the embodiment of melancholy whereas the progressive folk rock number "Maiden Voyage" displays the band's talent with extended compositions.


While the opening side is excellent, there is no foreshadowing of the brilliance to be found on the flip side. It moves beyond folk rock to a more complex prog rock sound and climaxing at the end of the album with a psychedelic space rock sequence not found since the glory days of Krautrock and bands like Ash Ra Tempel. "Transcendence" starts this side with serene piano and is augmented by bagpipe and flute. Then a powerful electric guitar enters to play the same beautiful melody. The tone gets noticeably louder until there's a dramatic break. Here, Avalanche display a ferocity that is a complete contrast to the delicate and mellow nature displayed so far. A soft, two-minute acoustic ballad is inserted to calm the nerves before the massively powerful "Oblivion" enters. This 11-minute plus opus is the high water mark for folk rock.
As on "Transcendence", the composition opens softly with a stunning acoustic guitar melody which is then offset by some dire sounding flutes followed by harmonium. It's just unbelievably pretty yet somehow very sad. Just when you're ready to cry, the electric rhythm guitar begins a simple, jazzy pattern. The bass and drums follow shortly thereafter creating a head-moving groove. Entering unannounced is a twin guitar attack which begins to pulverize your senses. The sound is heavy and acidic like that of Manuel Göttsching, and the playing has the same soul the Ash Ra guitarist has. The solo contains a number of original melodies within that add to the special quality. And this goes on for close to seven minutes to solidify one of the most intense and beautiful guitar solos in rock history. The album ends at the peak of the solo; one almost wishes for another 15 minutes to be found from the same tape. What a trip through the emotions!

Ian Matthews "If You Saw Thro' My Eyes" {UK} {1971} (Acid Folk, Folk-rock)

Some days ago I went shopping at the local second hand store for used vinyls. While I was browsing, this one showed up that had the Vertigo swirl so it looked really interesting. And it only cost about 6 euros so why not! However I think you people know Ian from the group Fairport Convention. Before that, he played with the group Pyramid, who recorded a single for Deram. After that, he became a member of Fairport Convention on their first 2 albums. After quitting Fairport, he formed the band Matthews Southern Comfort, who released an album back in 1970. In that year, when the band reached their peak of popularity, Ian left to record solo work. Really great folk-rock, especially this one and Tigers Will Survive, also recorded in 1971.

Röda Kapellet "Röda Kapellet" {Sweden} [1974] (Progressive Rock - Working Class - Communism)

This kind of music was very popular in Sweden during the 70's. It was not band like Mecki or Råg i Ryggen or November, Träd Gräs och Stenar that was selling big amounts of records and earned a lot of money. It was the bands with political music and a left oriented political thougts that did it. Bands like National Teatern, Blå Tåget, Knutna Nävar was very popular in Sweden.
Röda Kapellet was formed in 1972 in the city Gothenburg and the members was also members in the communist party(VPK) and there youth section (KU). And on their first record you can read that it is " our mission to spread the thoughts from the party". This album is the first one they did their second is named "Party Musik-Parti Musik". And are really good it includes the 22 min track "Lärling". Something intresting is also that the band was split in one electric part and one acoustic part.
Ok now you maybe think "Why he is giving us these communist shit?". Well I think that you think to see a another part of Sweden not all the hyped band that I have mention in the text. And this is really good music. You don't have to be political intrested to like this kind of music.

I dunno anything about the musicans and wich year some of the recordings have been made. I do know that they are med between the late 50's and early 70's . I think that it is pretty cool stuff.

Dün "Eros" (Zeuhl) {France} [1981]

The French Soleil label has once again reissued a rare and wonderful recording by a little-known band playing avant-progressive rock. Evolving through several players, Dün began life as Vegetaline Boufiol, became Kan-Daar, then Dune, before finally settling on Dün. The various members' influences included Mahavishnu Orchestra (as Kan-Daar they were something of a Mahavishnu cover band), Frank Zappa, Henry Cow, but mostly Magma. The band's active years were from 1978-1981 during which they played shows with the likes of Magma, Art Zoyd, Etron Fou Leloublan, and almost became a part of the short-lived Rock In Opposition (RIO) grouping of bands in Europe, which gives a good idea of the adventurous nature of Dün's music. In 1981 they recorded an LP that apparently never secured proper distribution, and as a result is probably quite rare. The "Eros" reissue includes the four tracks from the original LP plus four bonus tracks, three of which are early demo versions of the tracks on the LP release.

"L'epice" declares the trademark Dün sound, being an enjoyable blend of fusion and progressive rock. There are majestic moments that recall Dün's Magma influences but also fiery rocking segments as well. The music segues through multiple movements some of which are carried by the floating qualities of flute and piano, and others that are aggressively led by searing guitar. The compositions are complex and played to perfection by this tight ensemble. Imagine a more orchestrated version of Henry Cow or Univers Zero and you'll get something like Dün.

"Arrakis" begins as a melodic, but still complex, progressive rock piece. Flute and piano carry the main themes for the first several minutes until unexpectedly launching into an intense full band jam. I love hearing piano alongside rock guitar as the instrument is clearly equal in power and potency. One of the bonus tracks is a demo version of "Arrakis". The basic theme is apparent, though saxophone is present and is a more prominent instrument than the flute. The band isn't quite as tight here, the sound being somewhat rawer, but it's still a fiery tune. "Bitonio" is a similar track but includes vibes and cool spacey synths. There's also a demo version of this track, but unlike "Arrakis" I found the demo version of "Bitonio" to be stronger than the LP version. The arrangements are more intricate and the music generally more developed than the LP version.

"Eros" is an aptly titled track. A beautiful flute melody takes the lead, but soon develops into a whimsical segment in which each band member plays repeated patterns. The pace slowly picks up though each member is still jamming away in a world that is both cooperative and their own. When the band explodes it's quite intense, and again the Magma influences are apparent though not in a way that overtly sounds like Magma. TIGHT playing from the musicians on this one! The demo version of "Eros" was recorded during the same session as the demo of "Arrakis" and is similar in sound due to the prominent saxophone and style that is closer to jazz than that heard on the LP. Kind of reminds me a little of Gong without the space element.

There are lots of these gems from the 70's and 80's collecting dust and thankfully there are labels like Soleil out there digging them up and making them available. Great care is put into the liner notes which include a detailed band history in English and French, and several photos. Recommended to all fans of the RIO scene and avant-progressive rock in general.

Black Zé - "Só Para Loucos.. Só Para Raros.." {Brasil} [1975]

Black Zé is a group of friends, living at Petrópolis. It is a rock band with progressive and blues touches in an alternative rock mood. As far as i know this album never reissued as cd, however the cd-r copies of the album is distrubuted with the fans of band. i am happy to have one of this cd-rs and to share from here.

Evolution "ST" {Spain} [1970] (Heavy Psych)

Long time no posts but I will start now again I promise.
How ever I will start to post this good spanish band that I found for not such a long time. And I was suprised by the heaviness and the wah wah. Evolution initially arrived in Spain from Germany as beat/soul band Los Vampires, who overtime changed direction, lost members and regrouped at the end of the decade in Barcelona to become the cities hottest soul act. When the psych-prog boom took off influences such as Santana, Spirit, King Crimson, Traffic and Blood, Sweat & Tears also began to play a crucial part in their sound. The band originals combined incredible psych-rock dance floor fillers - notably 'Dr. Vazquez' - which were packed with fuzz guitar, Hammond and Det Ferring's impressive vocals, with more introspective rock. From 1970 Is Another One Of The Most Sought-After Records From Spain's Rock Heritage. This effort are including 4 bonus tracks and 2 covers on King Crimson 21st Century Schizod Man and In the Court of King Crimson.

So if you're into heavy early psych dont get afraid to get it!

Kobza - "Kobza" {Ukraine} [1971] (psych folk rock)

Kobza was established by several students of Kyiv School of Music as an instrumental folk music band in late 60s. Having been unable to win much fame, the band started experimenting with new music formats and eventually moved closer to more popular rock sound, while still retaining its focus on traditional music and the respective repertoire. The debut album by Kobza, recorded in 1970, is one of the earliest documented examples of Ukrainian folk-rock. As a matter of fact, it is is said to be the very first long-play record to have been produced in Ukraine.

Despite being deeply rooted into the 'folk art' soil, the music on the Kobza's maiden album has a distinct psych feeling which probably reflects the musicians' keen interest in the modern Western rock scene. Half of the tracks are folk songs carefully arranged for electric organ, bass, drums, woodwinds, and three banduras (traditional Ukrainian string instruments). The other half are pop/folk songs composed by contemporary local authors, and stylized to fit into the same traditional vs modern compositional and sonic framework.

Available here is the rip of the old vinyl release (I think it dates back to the early 70s or so), the quality is not that great, but that's all I currently have. I may be able to locate and eventually upload a remastered CD version of this album which I heard was released recently.

Anaïd - "Four Years" {France} [1991] (jazz fusion)

If I remember correctly, a request for this album appeared some time ago at the PnF forum, in the thread related to zeuhl. Despite being included into several zeuhl reference lists on the web (which, I think, is exactly what arouses the interest on the part of zeuhl lovers), this album rather falls into a jazz category. There are occasional slides into heavy jazz-rock - especially on the tracks featuring Hugh Hopper and his distinguished bass work - but overall it is inventive, bright and limpid jazz fusion with some funky touches and very strong and artistic vocal appearence by Emmanuelle Lionet. "Four Years" is the band's only CD release. It includes the complete "Belladonna" LP album, as well as two tracks from an earlier cassette release named "Vêtue De Noir". Jazz fusion lovers will probably find it pretty enjoyable.

Musica d'Repuesto - "Av Abuc" {Cuba} [1993] (avant rock)

This is a mostly instrumental album of rather unusual and innovative avant-garde rock music originating, surprisingly, from early 90s Cuba. This one took me by surprise completely, as it was completely out of line with what I knew about the progressive scene of Latin America. 'Av Abuc' is a hardly describable brew of progressive rock, electronics, and chamber music. The closest matches I can possibly name are, on the one hand, the French band '000' (who explored the terrain of restless 'crimsonicity' superimposed on the dense background of electronic beats and haunting synth chords), and, on the other hand, the Russian band 'Horizont' (who successfully blended progressive symphonic rock and edgy RIO-styled avant-garde). Despite its utter weirdness and complexity, the music by Musica d'Repuesto is not particularly challenging. It is composed thoughtfully, performed lively and brightly, and does not yield a bit of itself to atonal and unstructured experimentation. Overall, I hold a very high opinion of this album, and I strongly recommend it to fans of unconventional rock music.

Maphia - "Hans im Glück" {Germany} [1978] (krautrock)

We are in a good syncronization with Serhiy to select albums from same countries :) The album i am posting now is also new to me. Not more than a week, i met with one of faithful pnf visitor friend (strmshadow), and i was amazed with his vinyl rips, collections. For a long time i wanted to hear a good quite uncommon krautrock, and my medicine came. Maphia; Maphia is an obscure krautrock band from seventies, especially i like somesongs on it. For the friends who would like to listen some cute krautrock album, may try this one. I looked for some information for the band at net, but couldnt successful. So any information welcome.

Nekropolis - "Live" {Germany} [1983] (avant / kraut)

Nekropolis was an outfit of changing line-up spearheaded by Peter Frohmader, an artist, a composer, and a notable figure at the German electronic and experimental scene. Nekropolis started in mid-70s as a kraut-rock band, and moved towards more adventurous kinds of music by the beginning of 1980s. This live record is a good display of what the band evolved into by the 1983. Sparcely arranged for guitar, bass, drums and tape effects, with occasional violin addition and bizzare voiceovers, the music ranges from improvisational, heavy and angular spacy kraut-rock to sheer sonic experimentation to harsh jazz fusion with occasional zeuhlish touches. Lovers of kraut, experimental rock, as well as some fans of Magma may enjoy this one.

STS (Seva, Top & Salmieri) - "Systeme Solaire" {France} [1997] (jazz fusion)

As requested by one of the friends at the PnF forum.

"Here's a disc that shows what bassist extraordinaire Jannick Top (best known for his proto-Ruins composition "De Futura" on Magma's 1976 album "Udu Wudu") has been up to lately. STS is his trio with sax player Eric Seva and drummer Claude Salmieri, and "System Solaire" is a live concert recording from '97, for which they were joined by guest guitarist Thibault Abrial. The nine planetarily-aligned tracks are both moody and energetic, dark jazz fusion with heavy Magma touches (Top and the drummer lock into some unmistakably Magmoid grooves), and the guitar adds a definite psych-rock element" - Aquarius Records.

Rodan - "Rodan" {USA} (1974) (prog funk)

Acid archives says; "Private 200 press, Pretty good LP ranging from prog with ripping guitar to horn-laden ballsy funk. The vocals are pretty out there. It appears that this band had roots with the Elastik Band of "Spazz" infamy!" I would never imagine a funk album with that coverart. For the lovers of santanaic music. Thanks to my friend Cassandra Witch :)
